Grind Challenges You Should Start Early

Don’t neglect unbuyable grind challenges․ Dense Domains and Sacred Scarabs will be on any pathway to 36 and you want to make progress on it now․ Start these now, especially if you farm off-Atlas content a lot․ On top of that, you don’t necessarily need to have it done now but it’s good to be three-quarters of the way through these challenges early, and then you can just finish them off later․ The usual approach we recommend is to focus on the grindy ones now and then the other ones you can pick up as you go․ Now we will go over the challenges one by one, and give you useful tips on completing each of them!

Beginners Basics (by Act 4)

This is a straightforward challenge that any player completing the game can achieve․ For most players, the challenge will be completed before Act 4, but if you are not progressing quickly, you may have to do a little more to make sure you complete it․ The challenges are as follows⁚ Complete “The Siren’s Cadence” quest․ Equip a 4-linked item․ Equip 5 items with a total of 15 links․ Equip a 6-linked item․ Complete all acts in the game․ This challenge is very easy to complete as you are already likely to do it naturally as part of the game’s progression․

Act Adversaries 1 2 (Act 10)

Dangerous Deeds (within 10 maps)

This challenge requires you to complete a number of tasks within the first ten maps you play․ You need to defeat a Breachlord, an Abyssal Depths boss, a Delve boss, a Heist boss, a Legion encounter, a Blight encounter, a Metamorph encounter, a Harbinger encounter, a strongbox encounter, and a unique map boss․ It’s a fairly easy challenge, as you will likely encounter all of these things within the first ten maps you play․ You can even complete this challenge by purchasing a map from a vendor and then completing a Breach or an Abyssal Depths encounter․ The easiest way to complete this challenge is to focus on completing the “Breach” encounter as you will likely encounter a Breach in your first ten maps, and the rewards from completing a Breach are often worth the effort;

Pantheonic Prowess (skill point quests)

The Pantheon Prowess challenge requires you to complete eight of the ten skill point quests in the game․ These quests are generally simple to complete and can be done in any order, and the rewards are often worth the effort․ You can find the skill point quest locations on the Path of Exile wiki, and they are also marked on the map in-game․ The quests are spread out across the game world, so you will need to explore a bit to complete all of them․ Once you have completed eight of the ten quests, you will receive the Pantheon Prowess challenge reward․ The reward is a unique item that grants a significant buff to your character․ If you are looking to complete this challenge, it is recommended that you focus on the quests that are located in the areas that you are already exploring․ This will help you to complete the challenge quickly and efficiently․

Achieve Ascension (4th Lab)

Dense Domains (grindy, 1k maps)

Dense Domains is a grindy challenge that requires you to complete 15,000 pack size on all your Maps․ This is a significant amount of mapping, and it can take a long time to complete․ There are a few things you can do to speed up the process․ One option is to use unique Maps that have a high pack size․ Some unique Maps can have 50 or more pack sizes․ Another option is to allocate Growing Hordes on your Atlas․ This will increase the pack size of all the maps in your Atlas․ You can also use polished scarabs to increase the pack size of your maps․ Polished scarabs are rare early in the league, but they become more common as you progress․ If you are struggling to complete Dense Domains, you can also allocate Grand Design on your Atlas․ This will further increase the pack size of your maps, but it will also reduce the amount of loot you receive․ Remember that you want to make progress on Dense Domains early on․ If you wait until the end of the league, you may find yourself running out of time․ Start working on it early, and you should be able to complete it without too much trouble․

Sacred Scarabs (grindy, scarabs are rare early in progression but scarab drops scale up a lot, 1 in 12 Eldritch Minion altars will have a scarab option)

The Sacred Scarabs challenge is another grindy one that requires you to use scarabs․ You get one point for rusted scarabs, two for polished, three for gilded, and four for winged․ It’s recommended that you get the five-way map device as soon as possible to speed up your progress․ Polished scarabs strike a good balance between quick progress and cost․ Scarabs are rare early in the league, but you’ll find that one in 12 Eldritch minion altars will have a scarab option once you reach endgame․ This will help you solve any scarab shortage issues․ You’ll find that you don’t have a lot of scarabs early on in the league, but as you progress, you’ll find that they become more common․ This is because Eldritch minion altars have a 1 in 12 chance to offer a scarab option once you reach endgame․ So, if you’re looking to complete the Sacred Scarabs challenge, make sure to farm those Eldritch minion altars․

Eldritch Elation (Straightforward and Dangerous, Monstrous in HC)

Eldritch Elation is a straightforward challenge that requires you to do a lot of dangerous mapping with the Atlas․ Fundamentally, it involves doing things that will generate you a lot of currency anyway․ It’s likely that you’ll want to run this challenge while you’re mapping in general and just deal with the occasional death that it causes․ However, Eldritch Elation is a very different beast if you choose to play in hardcore․ If you’re playing in hardcore, you definitely want to take the atlas node near the southeast corner of the atlas that causes monsters in your maps to have 50 more light and deal 25 less damage; You probably already have that in hardcore, but it’s much more important when you’re trying to do Eldritch Elation․ This challenge can be quite dangerous, especially in hardcore, so it’s important to be prepared․ Make sure you have a good build and that you’re familiar with the mechanics of the game․ You should also make sure to have enough life and resistances to survive the encounters you’ll face․ With a little bit of effort, you’ll be able to complete this challenge and earn some valuable rewards․

Awakened Atlas (Hard Combat Encounters⁚ Feared, Elderslayers, Hidden and more)

Awakened Atlas is the final challenge in this category, and it’s a tough one․ It requires you to defeat The Feared and two other hard encounters․ To beat this challenge, you’re going to need to be able to defeat The Feared․ Maven’s Invitation of The Feared is the hardest of the Maven’s Invitations, and The Hidden and The Elder Slayer also don’t pull any punches either․ It’s important to note that you can do these on a scoured invitation if you have to, and doing so will make them considerably easier, but it will also make them considerably less rewarding․ We’ll leave that decision up to you․ If you’re struggling to defeat The Feared, you might want to consider using a different build or strategy․ You could also try farming some better gear․ Ultimately, though, the key to completing this challenge is to be prepared and to have a good understanding of the mechanics of the game․ With a little bit of patience and perseverance, you’ll be able to defeat The Feared and complete this challenge․
